Paying your Rent on Time Builds Your Credit

The holidays are over and the New Year is upon us. Keeping the roof over your head is a priority for obvious reasons. The extra debt from the holidays and after the cold temperatures we have had lately, the utility bills can become overwhelming. Here are some tips to help you stay on track and keep your rent paid in full.

1. When you file your income tax, pay your rent up for a few months in advance.
2. If you find yourself in an emergency situation, the following organizations can provide financial assistance:
  • Ladies of Charity - (865) 524-0538
  • Montgomery Village Ministry - (865) 577-5555
  • CAC - General Assistance
  • South - (865) 577-7591
  • East - (865) 546-5125
  • North - (865) 925-0880
  • West - (865) 524-3345
  • Salvation Army - (865) 525-9401
  • Local Churches from their benevolence fund
3. Have a garage sale, sell your things on craigslist or Ebay
4. Make stuff to sell - do you sew, do you have a skill that you can offer
5. Many charities provide services and items that you would otherwise spend money on, freeing up your money for your more important bills. Food banks, open dining opportunities and help on your utilities.
6. Do odd jobs - Babysitting, wash cars, mow lawns or clean houses
7. Collect your change - look under your couch cushions and in the junk drawers
8. Return your past purchases
9. Sell clothes at a consignment shop
10. Sell used books, Cd's, and DVDs at Edward McCay
11. The US Census Bureau is hiring - Call them up at 865-291-5420 - $12.75 per hour!
12. Sell your gold
If you are having trouble making the rent, it is always a good idea to stay in touch with your landlord and let them know you are doing everything to get it paid. Borrow the money from a friend and pay them back. It will save you money in late charges and possible eviction costs down the road. It will also protect your credit rating.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!

This blog has the potential to reach many who are suffering and need help in many areas of their lives, we also want to minister to the soul as well as the physical body. We can do all things if God is in it but apart from HIM we can do nothing. God loves you and HE wants you to know HIM and know that HE has a plan for your life. God is good all the time and all the time God is good! This is the day that the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad. Greater is HE who is in us than he that is in the world.

Looking forward to many more things to come in place as we go forward with this site and stay tuned because God does have a plan and we feel we are a part of the future to assis those who are in need.

Be Blessed!

Antha
